Yes, that's the same paragraph I had in mind: so we agree none of the Musgroves knew about it, nor did Mary.

I also agree about the wishful thinking.
But should Lady Russell persuade Anne not to marry Charles, but wouldn't stir a finger in Mary's case?
Did Henrietta think that Lady Russell considered Charles not bookish enough for Anne, but quite alright for the not-so-bookish-herself Mary?
