We see further hints that she might have interests elsewhere, such as in Chapter 14 when she is back at Kellynch and asks Mary and Charles about how he is doing. The speculation that follows is all based in Mary and Charles' perceptions of his regard for Anne, but it seems that it's not unwelcome to Anne.

Then later in Chapter 14, when she's arrived in Bath, we learn that, "she felt that she would rather see Mr. Elliot again than not, which was more than she could say for many other persons in Bath. Here, too, I feel that we're to believe that she might be ready to look elsewhere.
