of the admiration of a gentleman who "seemed about thirty, and though not handsome, had an agreeable person. Anne felt that she should like to know who he was."

I would say it had been a great day and a half. She was enjoying the sea air, had been useful and actually listened to and now had seem a gentleman who seemed to think her worth a second look (used up as she was considered) and who she might like to know also.
