I especially enjoyed Capperīs remark on the blue cloudless sky totally new to the eye of an Englishman...accustomed to the sight of rolling masses of clouds floating in a damp atmosphere.

And furher on: The rustling of fine linen and the general hub of unusual conversation presents to his mind for a moment the idea of an assembly of females. LOL

It never occured to me that merchant ships had to be guarded by the Navy as well. Thank you for troubling to enrich our ignorant minds!
