Modern sensibilities   Written by Robbin (10/17/2008 2:37 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Miserable Anne, penned by Kathryn Ann
Are you new?

Your censure may be praise Frederick makes it clear he is not interested in Anne and despite how this might rub modern sensibilities the wrong way I don’t think it was for Anne to attempt to change his mind. She is not supposed to make an effort—as in chasing after him, attempting to draw him in, gain his attention from the ladies he has chosen to attend. Anne is not wallowing in her misery; she is enduring it and behaving like a lady rather than a Lydia. If sometimes Anne does not want his cold unforgiving attention on her—I don’t blame her.
