Others (and me included) have commented in other posts that CW had the option to up and leave Kellynch to visit his brother in Shropshire as he had originally planned, if he felt truly uncomfortable constantly running into Anne. But something makes hims stay on. Anne didn't have the option to leave -- she had to wait for LR to come and bring her to Bath.
So, I do agree he still had feelings for Anne that he didn't publicly acknowledge, or was trying his best to subdue, or perhaps wasn't even consciously aware of yet. Their lack of conversation during this period shows the public side of the state of their relationship, but his actions towards Anne (little William, the carriage scene) speak volumes more. At least to JA readers like us!
