It was very interesting and informative to read the post. I have been following the GR with interest, though I haven't been posting, but couldn't resist today ;)

Fort St. George is the seat of the Tamil Nadu state government even today. Madras was officially renamed as Chennai in 1996 (which was the original name used by the inhabitants).
