At the beginning of Chapter 11, as she's preparing to return to Lady Russell's home, we read: ...and upon the whole, she believed she must, on this interesting question, be the gainer, almost as certainly as in her change of domestic society, in leaving poor Mary for Lady Russell.
Though she tolerates her, certainly gets along better with her than with Elizabeth, and makes herself useful to her, I don't think she's particularly fond of Mary, nor do I imagine that Mary did much to help Anne feel better overall.
