I hadn't really thought much about what FW knows (or doesn't know) about Anne's feelings, and Anne's culpability in the dynamic that's going on here. Thanks for bringing that to the forefront. On the other hand, while Anne has just avoided interaction with FW, he has made pointed barbs toward her, such as his repeated references in her hearing to the year 06 and how anxious he was to be away then, and his comments about her being so altered as not to recognize her. Perhaps not intentional, but I can't help but feel that these events are harder on her than her withdrawal is on him.
