is the only sure way to promotion. This is still true. I grew up in a Military family and was surrounded by this sort of thinking. I can assure you that allowing the military to decide whether or not you should go to war is a major mistake..self will enter in. The sort of personality who is most sucsessful in war is the CW type who do not think in terms of death and destruction. I hadn't seen this thread before but have been mulling over the Admiral's off hand comment about war myself.
