If Line's points are spot on, then...   Written by Moni (10/15/2008 12:04 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I assume it's the ON, penned by JoAnn
Are you new?

it's interesting because she says we get an opening into the Captain's thoughts, via the ON. Is that right, Line? Let me know. I am not that au fait with all the nuances.

Say if we are privy to his thoughts, then it accounts for a lot of Anne's dejections and low feelings. It is like he has judged her as being timid and unworthy of him, in a sense, and she feels all the pain of it.

Does this make sense?

However, Anne could feel like this because she remembers him as being courageous and dynamic, and now feels she has not lived up to his standards?? If it is his "voice" that says she is timid, etc., then it accounts for Anne's horrible feelings. Does this make sense? I am not sure it does!
