What is Anne´s Navy List doing at Uppercross?

In ch.8 when CW talks of his life as a captain, Anne found the Miss Musgroves just fetching the Navy List (their own navy list, the first that had ever been at Uppercross). I suppose she bought that Navy List in order to persue FW´s career. But I wonder why she would leave such a "sacred" thing at Uppercross? Or is it an older copy which she bought during the time of her engagement and wanted to get rid of after she rebuffed FW?
