Amazing. Thank you, Rae, for the insight.   Written by JanELT (10/14/2008 8:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, L&T: Wentworth the 'Star Captain', penned by Rae
Are you new?

I had no idea it was that big a deal to command a frigate. Once again JA had managed to downplay it. I think that perhaps she just assumed everyone knew what a big deal it was. Perhaps she had no idea her books would last for hundreds of years.

This is definitely quite a jackpot for me as my GR focus is on Wentworth's thoughts. It does explain Wentworth's rather successful streak as a Navy officer. I realized the other day he had "five and twenty thousand pounds" to his name compared to Darcy's "ten thousand a year."

Unfortunately for the poor Captain, when it came to things of the heart, he rather needed a wake-up slap. Poor Anne, having to bear all that pouting.
