Can't make it out   Written by Marieke (10/13/2008 4:05 p.m.)
Are you new?

Pardon my english, I'm not a native speaker, but I can't make out the following in chapter 7:

Just after Anne hears that CW thinks her so altered he should not have known her again, the ON states:

"Mary had no feelings to make her respect her sister's in a common way, but she was perfectly unsuspicious of inflicting any peculiar wound"

What does the first part of this sentence mean? Does it say that Mary doesn't have any respect for her sister's feelings or should I read this differently?

Thanks for helping out.
