I see CW as a man under tremendous control that evening. I am sure it pained him terribly to be in the same room as the woman who had written off their relationship on the word of a third party. How could he avoid the issue now? There she was in the same room. There she sat! All he could think of was what happened in year six!

I am sure it was with great difficulty that CW tried to be civil to Anne. But they both knew it. It was a perpetual estrangement and they were both miserable under their facade.
