The chapter seven parts...   Written by Moni (10/13/2008 12:55 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Autumnal Persuasion, Week 2, penned by Cheryl

are excruciating. Poor Anne, all of that to listen to and deal with, so suddenly in her mind, at with so little notice. JA has written it so well, it's cringe worthy; I winced at every word the Captain uttered, and felt completely compassionate for Anne.

It is clear he values her not, in spite of the eight years she has spent in various states of distress and agony over everything. She is only really valued at Uppercross for her practical skills, and no more than that.

Previously I have found myself seeing the Captain's view, but now I can't help but dislike him, and his manner, and his choice of words! And seeming to raffle himself off as a husband to the most interested lady, end of chapter, ahem. Badly done, Captain Wentworth! (Sorry Captain fans, do not beat me! ;-)))
