Answers   Written by Cheryl (10/12/2008 11:00 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Persuasion Gazetteer Quiz: Week I, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Here are the answers, with a link to the specific page in the Gazetteer from which I took the question.

Ch. 1 What building was formerly used as a place of worship?
House of Commons

Ch. 2 Where was King Edgar crowned in 973?
Bath (the actual date isn't mentioned, I looked it up. ;-)

Ch. 3 Where is there an epitaph to the inventor of the Elizabethan ruff?
Taunton

Ch. 4 What Island is situated between Cuba and Porto Rico?
St. Domingo

Ch. 5 What city has a share in the fisheries of Newfoundland and Greenland?
Exeter (Note to Mandy N - though the same can apply to Plymouth, Plymouth isn't mentioned in ch. 3, so the answer is Taunton. ;-)

Ch. 6 What town is known as the "Montpelier of England?"
Clifton

When you come across a place name in this week's chapters, jot it down and then look it up in the Gazetteer next time you're online. There's a lot of interesting and cool stuff in there!
