A suggestion for you, JanELT, find possible places in the appointed chapters of Persuation, then find them in the Gazetter. The format of the Gazretter is very user friendly. For example, since you already have the right answer for Ch 2, I will use that to assist you:

In Chapter 2 London and Bath are places mentioned. Since you already know about Edgar and Bath Abbey, you're ahead of most of us. So once you enter into the Gazetter, click on England link which will bring you to a selection of real places mentioned in JA's novels. Click on Bath and you will find in the description, the words that are the same as what Cheryl used in the clues. Don't be frustrated, you already showed us you know a lot to get started.
