So she really doesn't have anything to fear when she goes over there - about them knowing information she'd really rather forget at this point!
And that would mean that when he finally does arrive (as is expected at the end of chapter 6), all the embarrassment she will undoubtedly feel will not be seen by her companions. I bed she's glad she's with Mary and the Musgroves for this instead of Lady Russell!
