At the risk of sounding like I don't know anything (I probably don't), how was Anne supposed to look like when she'd lost her bloom?
Ch 1: "A few years before, Anne Elliot had been a very pretty girl, but her bloom had vanished early..."
Ch 4: "...and an early loss of bloom and spirits had been their lasting effect."
Was she, like, frail? Wrinkly? What? Was she skinny? I guess this is an L&T question because it was hard for me to comprehend that Anne was over the hill at 27YO. My bones didn't start creaking until I hit middle age (maybe Mrs Bennet's age LOL) and that's because I haven't been exercising LOL. But Anne, like her contemporaries, walked a lot, and I would think that sort of exercise would be healthy for her.
Now I did read that Elizabeth never lost her bloom, right? I thought it was astounding that nobody complained about Elizabeth's loss of bloom even though she was 29YO.
