Are you new?

We are told that Anne and Wentworth were deeply in love, and given Wentworth's personality (as told by the narrator), I can understand why he proposed to Anne in 1806. I agree with the soundess of Lady Russell's advice, but I also understand why such a man as Wentworth, impetuous and confident and optimistic by nature, would propose even early on to the woman he loved.
