Before you go to all that trouble   Written by JulieW (10/10/2008 5:16 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Not enough, penned by Tarn
Are you new?

can we gently point out that a lot of what you wrote, though interesting was sadly irrelevant to Marianne's original query ;-)

We do require posts made in reply to other posts in a Life and Times context to be on topic and to answer the question posed (with supporting references).

It is relatively easy to exhibit by reeling off myriad facts and statements, but it is quite another to relate them to the question asked and keep on topic by self editing and discarding irrelevant information.

So, before you post a long list of supporting quotes , can we please request that you pause and think "Is this relevant to the question ?" before posting again in reply to a Life and Times post.

Also,we have to say that posting in a hurry and without considering the effect of that post is clearly a recipe for disaster, tone being very hard to discern via the medium of the internet :-) To be brief, it's a habit we would not want you to continue on any of the boards at ROP but it is especially important not to do it in relation to Life and Times questions where some precision is required. A little more time and thought on the part of the poster would lessen the moderating stresses for us all ;-)

Thanks for understanding.
