I agree as well   Written by Patricia P (10/9/2008 1:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Persuading Anne – was Lady Russell right? (long), penned by Rachel G
Are you new?

As much as I love the fearless Captain he has done nothing at this point in his life to show that he is ready for marriage and its responsibilities. Common sense should have made him save some of the money that he had made. He showed no sense at all. If he had been content to recognize the truths involved he would have said -when I have proved that I can do better will you allow me to come back and ask you again-then he would have shown that he loved Anne more than himself..but we would have no story. We can at least thank Lady R for that.
