The Naval Chronicle   Written by Rae (10/8/2008 1:38 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, And how would she know if he was married?, penned by Anna Ruby
Are you new?

The Naval Chronicle, published monthly from 1799, as well as details of naval engagements, battles, prizes etc included a Gazette which gave information about Naval Officers' social lives, including marriages - it is possible Anne somehow managed to check in this from time to time. I have attached a link to a page describing the Chronicle in more detail.
