... so it only shows that Lady Russell did not know of any "connexions". It certainly means that Captain Wentworth did not brag about his sister being married to an influential man in the Navy. Did Anne know the name "Croft", or she only connected the dots once Mr. Shepherd mentioned Wentworth?
