in consequence of the missive, Wondering about particulars...., penned by Stephanie.S.
at the moment in relation to Kellynch due to spoilers, but yes, it was possible to rent not only a great house but an estate to include the villages, cottages,farms etc on teh estate. The lease would have specified who was to get the profits of the rent roll and produce. we are somewhat in the dark as to the particulars of the terms of this lease,but there are some clues about it in the text which we shall encounter later ;-)
And yes, an inventory of all the furniture, paintings, all the physical possessions left in Kellynch would have to be drawn up (by Anne and Mr Shepherd no doubt) and attached to the lease, so that when the Admiral and Mrs Croft eventually quitted the premises left a check could be made and wear and tear assessed.
