For serious retrenchment, you can't just not do something. You have to stop and rearrange your life so that you save enough money to pay back those you owe. I agree, Elizabeth's plan (with the exception of the charities) actually did nothing to solve their financial crisis. And this was her opinion after really looking at the situation! Not only is she cold and distant, she has no common sense as well!
