Handwritten addtions ....   Written by Mandy N (10/7/2008 10:18 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Paper trail., penned by nan duval

Interesting how the Baronetage ( Debretts ?) appears like a handmirror for Sir Walter to admire and reflect on 'the blessing of a baronetcy'.
Sir Walter's handwritten additions to his entry in the Baronetcy indicate he is more fastidious about improving or recording Elliot family information, than paying his debts.

Yet the satisfaction Sir Walter derives from the Baronetage is in contrast to Elizabeth's distaste for the Book of books with her disappointment over Heir presumptive William Walter Elliot, Esq. handwritten in by her father and shows her uneasiness at age 29, still unmarried.

In Persuasion, I think marriage is an important issue for women.
