That's really a good point!   Written by Anna Ruby (10/7/2008 4:30 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Although . . ., penned by CarolTS
Are you new?

I have often wondered whether Mr Shepherd approves his daughter's designs towards Sir Walter. I would imagine he does, considering that he's always happy to drive her to Kellinch-hall (it is so good for her health...), but then nobody knows better that him in what dreadful state Sir Walter's finances really stand.

However, it is possible that he (Mr Shepherd) would be only too happy to leave the burden of his daughter (and her two children???) to someone else, be it even a spendthrift baronet. I guess he cannot be so rich that the addition of three people to the household would make no difference to him.
