Paper trail.   Written by nan duval (10/6/2008 9:15 p.m.)
Are you new?

One of my 2 focuses (foci?) this GR is written communication from, to, & about the characters as well as what they read. Since our novel opens with Sir Walter's favorite piece of literature--one that he has ammended (the interactive Baronettage), I just wanted to observe that his relationship to the book was a way of looking at himself (like a mirror) & reassuring himself about his place in the world. It is an example of the statement that the ON makes a little way later that "Vanity was the beginning and the end of Sir Walter Elliot's character".
