she thought she really did know best. Anne had hardly been out - never taken to London with Sir Walter and Elizabeth - only at Bath just after her mother died for school and again one other time not long after she gave up her engagement. I think she was completely serious in what she thought to be true. She wasn't trying to ignore Anne's thoughts - she was trying to change her mind with what she thought was best for her.
