Below is another link which may interest you, an encyclopaedia article base on the 1924 Baronetage. Note that each Baronetcy is shown with the date of it's creation - this mattered since it gave the baronets' order of precedence, hence Sir Walter's admiration and respect for the earliest creations (patents). Click on a name to see the sort of information we are given about the Elliot entry in chapter 1. I also find it fascinating to see how many of the earliest Baronetcies were extinct by the end of the 18th century - ("..the limited remnant..") JA was clearly familiar with "The Baronetage" of her day.
