Note that each Baronetcy is shown with the date of it's creation - this mattered since it gave the baronets' order of precedence, hence Sir Walter's admiration and respect for the earliest creations (patents). I also find it fascinating to see how many of the earliest Baronetcies were extinct by the end of the 18th century - ("..the limited remnant..") JA was clearly familiar with "The Baronetage" of her day.
