This time around -- I think it's my third reading of the book -- I am liking Lady R more than I ever did.

When we are told by the ON that Anne thinks "with heightened gratitude of the extraordinary blessing of having one such truly sympathising friend as Lady Russell," I don't think that's meant to be taken ironically.
