That is a good thought; I agree Anne in personality is similar to her prudent, capable mother. Lady Russell seems to think her god-daughter is like her mother.
However, I looked up the Baronetage ;) in ch.1. Sir Walter Elliot married an Elizabeth Stevenson.
Perhaps Anne is named after her god-mother, Lady Russell ?
