I was thinking just this...   Written by Rae (10/6/2008 12:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, A small house, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Listening to this bit this morning it struck me how, although this wish tells us a lot about Anne and where she feels at home, it is quite unrealistic and unreasonable to hope that Sir Walter and Elizabeth might settle for it. It would be deeply humiliating for them, and for almost anyone. Even Anne might see it so in reality. The next best thing for her, I think, would have been if she could have settled with Lady Russell at Kellynch Lodge - though of course once she knew who the tenants of Kellynch Hall where to be that might be a too close proximity for comfort, for any length of time.
