His soliloquy was a horrendously juvenile outburst, and it was the one time I liked him. There were many, many times I wished a hover craft had abducted the good captain on one of his walks and the little space people had wispered in his ear, "Anne, Anne."

Anne had no suitors for half the book. Big Man on Campus, indeed.
