P1 has grown on me! I saw it   Written by Merry T. (11/1/2005 2:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Here I am my dear!, penned by Deborah d'Bajor
Are you new?

for the first time in Aug and have rented it again in honor of the end of the Group Read. This summer, I also watched two other "firsts", one in particular horrified me.By the time I got to P1 I was reconciled to whatever appeared on the screen. I actually liked it better than the other two "firsts". This was assisted by my reading the novel for the first time as I was watching P1. Also, I had not seen P2, so I had no preconceived notions as to characterizations.

True, the actess did not bear the close up shots well and I would have preferred a simpler hairstyle, but I soon got caught up in the story. The scene with Captain Harville(great actor) was well done and flowed quite naturually in to the Letter scene. Great chemistry! What a letter! Hearing Captain Wentworth's very own voice reading those amazing lines was ample reward for any small problems with the rest of the production. That period of time (just a few minutes)from the time Anne read the Letter until she and Frederick were walking alone must have seemed like an eternity for both of them. I love happy endings!
