I like your comparison. Mine...   Written by Reeba (11/1/2005 4:51 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Comparison of Anne in P1 and P2, penned by MaryAnn K.
Are you new?

are about the same, except for a few things.

P1's Anne does not look in as bad a situation as P2's because of, mainly, Elizabeth IMO.

P2's Elizabeth would make me pity anyone, and one feels for Anne there. To have such a witchy sister. So here Anne's position is pitiable.

In P1 Elizabeth is as I imagined in the book. She is self centred, but not witchy. So one does not feel the need to feel sorry for Anne.

P1's Anne is not unloved in the world. Lady C loves her. In fact the scenes between the two are quite nice, and bring out the relationship, which changes ones outlook on Anne here.

In P2, LadyR is dominating and one felt for Anne to have to be under her guidance, as well as have a witchy sister to deal with.

I always felt that Anne had made her own world without her father and sister. She didn't enjoy the things they did or say, anyway. The lack of love was compensated by Lady R.
So Anne was depressed and sad over her lost love and her motherIMO.
This Anne is well portrayed in P1. One feels for her and with her.IMO

In P2, Anne seems to be beaten from all sides. She rouses ones pity along with ones feelings.

They both portrayed their Anne's very well.
The book's Anne is perhaps in between these two, sometimes more like P1's and sometimes more like P2's.
