in consequence of the missive, Comparison of Anne in P1 and P2, penned by MaryAnn K.
didn't care for it at all. To be honest, I watched a little over an hour and sent it back to netflix. Yes, the Anne of P2 is mousier in spirit than I see the Anne of the book, but she seems like a real person, unlike the Anne of P1 who seems like an actress. I have two big complaints about P2: the way Elizabeth is presented she seems like a spoiled late 20th century teenager than the overly proud and anxiously unmarried eldest daughter of SW; and two, Mary, as portrayed by Sophie Thompson, shows no charm of personality or looks that could explain why Charles was attracted to her. Ms Thompson is actually an attractive woman but here she looked quite drab.
