My sentiments on P1   Written by Jenny Allan (10/31/2005 11:20 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, P1, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

"I just finished watching the first half of P1 and I'm making it through the clothing and hairdos just fine - I must be hardened to it. But what I am finding intolerable is Louisa Musgrove's constant giggling and clinging to Captain Wentworth. I tell you, I was looking forward to her jumping off the Cobb and breaking her head, if only because I knew her mouth would be closed. Oy!"

I felt that about the clothes, etc. the first time I watched it, which was just recently. I guess I'd heard so much about the "Polyester Persuasion" that I was prepared for worse. It was dated, but not that much worse than the E1, or S&S1, IMHO.

I agree Louisa in P1 is sooo annoying.

And isn't Harville a hottie? It's not right that Harville should be better looking than Wentworth.

The best thing about P1 is that Anne and her father have a little less hostile relationship than in P2. In P1 it's as if she gently humors him, and he is quite silly. In P2 is positively hateful. That was never the impression I got from the book.

Overall, I think the script is weak and the acting is OK, but nothing compared to the overall stellar cast in P2.
