Captain Harville’s speech about separating and reuniting with his family always gives me a lump in my throat because I have been through this so many times myself. My husband is a retired military man so I have left my own immediate family many times but my husband did accompanied duty six times ranging from two weeks to nine months—I consider myself lucky. Those feelings Captain Harville expresses I have felt exactly and my heart truly breaks for him when I read it.
