At least she has good taste in eye candy!

Perhaps she is not so sanguine in her belief that Mr. Elliot as well as all the other men are wild about her, after all, despite Mrs. Clays assurances. Elizabeth seems to oblivious to the danger of her situation, though to actually pursue any man no matter how eligible.

I wouldn't take it as any special circumstance that she gave him her card, though. She is the hostess and I think that's her job. Plus it might be too much like work for Sir Walter.
