she thinks the attentions are for her because Mr. Elliot is of service to Anne. Kind of like in Emma where Mr. Elton does things for for Harriet because he wants to make Emma happy?

He gets his umbrella to walk home with Anne, as a service for Elizabeth. He spends time with Anne to keep her amused so Elizabeth can converse with Mrs. Clay or Miss Cartaret.
