Good point   Written by Jenny Allan (10/24/2005 12:01 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Male Characters, penned by James S.
Are you new?

In general in JA, we spend very little time inside male conciousness. But I think you are right, James, that because the book is so solidly from Anne's POV, that Wentworth the hero becomes even more of an enigma. But to me, it's that very engimatic quality that I find interesting. I enjoy speculating why Wentworth does the things he does when he does them in the novel. Often my ideas differfrom Anne's own, because I feel that through most of the book she holds a lower opinion of herself than she should.
