ch.18: The Crofts had placed themselves in lodgings in Gay Street, perfectly to Sir Walter's satisfaction. He was not at all ashamed of the acquaintance, and did, in fact, think and talk a great deal more about the Admiral than the Admiral ever thought or talked about him.
ch.19: Anne, wearied of such a state of stagnation, sick of knowing nothing, and fancying herself stronger because her strength was not tried, was quite impatient for the concert evening...If she could only have a few minutes conversation with [CW] again, she fancied she should be satisfied; and as to the power of addressing him, she felt all over courage if the opportunity occurred. (sweet but funny, IMO)
ch.20: This is not exactly an LOL line, but it's very descriptive. [CW] was preparing only to bow and pass on, but [Anne's] gentle "How do you do?" brought him out of the straight line to stand near her (like an iron filing to a magnet! ;-).
The entrance door opened again, and the very party appeared for whom they were waiting. "Lady Dalrymple, Lady Dalrymple!" was the rejoicing sound; and with all the eagerness compatible with anxious elegance, Sir Walter and his two ladies stepped forward to meet her.
Upon Lady Russell's appearance soon afterwards, the whole party was collected, and all that remained was to marshal themselves, and proceed into the Concert Room; and be of all the consequence in their power, draw as many eyes, excite as many whispers, and disturb as many people as they could.
[Anne] remained in her seat,...but she had the pleasure of getting rid of Mr. Elliot.
Any more?
