Especially the fact that she gives an explanation, unsolicited, to Anne, why she was staring so intentently at that direction.

I started with some kinder feelings towards Lady Russel, but ever since recognising this time the emotional backmail she was trying to do Anne reg Mr.Elliot, all my sympathy is gone and I can easily believe that she would play this little trick to avoid talking about Cp Wentworth to Anne!
