I agree with you 100% Shir. I don't think CW was intentionally using Louisa to speak to Anne, but it was perhaps unconcious. The weakness goes deeper than just failing to curb her jumping habit. It goes back to the nut speech, where he is telling her to be resolute all her days. He doesn't know Anne is listening to the nut speech so he is not deliberately speaking to her, only perhaps caring out a little argument with her in his head (as we are all wont to do sometimes.) Louisa, impressionable girl that she was, took all of his nonsense, which was as the narrator admitted done half in jest, completely seriously.
