Are you new?

I mean, after all this was the happiest days of her life, even if they were few. She lives with a father who doesn't care, and a sister who is mean to her. She has got Mary of course, but she doesn't really seem to care either.

And she has no real chance of meeting a suitable man for marriage. She doesn't get to go to London with Sir W and Elizabeth. There are not many men among their acquaintances, not that we know of.

Anne is vulnerable, she has no feeling of security in her life. And there is no way out. If she lived in 2005 she could leave her family and get a job and support herself, but she can't do that. So I understand why she keeps dreaming of the one who really cared, and keeps thinking of the life she might have had if only...
