A reflection on Bath   Written by helena6 (10/19/2005 1:22 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, A metaphorical 'place' too, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

It seemed to me that she almost corrects herself by adding the unless.

It reminds me of Bath and her experiences of Bath as well. Bath is all suffering for her. But Kellynch, while being the scene of some suffering is also the home of some memories worth having. FW and her mother and Lady R.

Perhaps it is the ability to put suffering aside when you have other things to live for (and remember). Anne seems to live in her memory of her relationship with FW. This never seemed entirely healthy to me. It might have been better to forget the good along with trying to forget the bad.
