Are you new?

In general Charles is a very straightforward fellow, but I can't help thinking he is exaggerating his expectations a bit in chapter 14 just to tweak Mary. It could be that he is just overenthusiastic ("Oh! he talks of you," cried Charles, "in such terms"), but I wonder if he isn't developing a little of Mr. Bennet's habit of teasing his foolish wife.
